Free Education
To promote literacy and higher learning amongst the underprivileged section, Saakshar Educational Trust, an NGO and charitable organization has undertaken several initiatives to improve the lives of deserving students through education. The main focus of the trust is to ensure that young children from economically and socially marginalized families get access to education. The idea of free education by Saakshar Educational Trust is to build a strong foundation by working towards its mission that is to educate kids as well as youth, give them access to vocational skill trainings, make them capable enough to earn their own livelihood and thereby not just empower them, their families but also the entire communities. They also provide personalized care for every student and assist with college or diploma or vocational training. Wanting to mobilize the education sector, the charitable organization through its foundational course desires to fill the education gaps with the single aim of providing free education and making a visible difference in the lives of underprivileged across India, those that belong to socio-economically marginalized sections of society. Today, the majority of its students are first-generation school-goers. The organization in its first year has already helped over 100 children across two locations in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities through its learning program and supportive initiatives. Free Training
One of the best modes of education is to equip the young with competencies and skills that can either help them to get employed or start their own work, and be self-employed. And so, Saakshar Educational Trust, a charitable organization in its commitment to provide livelihood opportunities to young and old, regularly conducts free skill-based training in different regions across India.
Empowering marginalised, rural and semi-urban sections, the trust timely runs women-centred initiatives, youth-related educational skill-based programs and job relevant free courses across several regions in India. The aim is to empower them with skills that can help them earn their livelihood and make them independent as well as capable enough to support their family. By giving individuals the Brahmastra to become self-reliant and lead a dignified life, Saakshar Educational trust through its free skill-based training aspires to touch as many lives as possible and elevate their living conditions significantly – uplifting not just individuals but families, communities and society! In its very first year of existence, Saakshar Education Trust (SET) organized a 2-month free Tailoring and Stitching course in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh and empowered 55 women with practical knowledge and employability skills. All set, the girls are either employed in-cloth factory, tailoring shop or are providing their own tailoring services from the comfort of their home.
The charitable trust aims to run both women and youth related free training programs in rural, semi-urban and not so developed areas (the slums and jhuggis) to increase their earning ability significantly by creating awareness as well as training them.
